Island Stone has endeavored to bring exquisite range of colors in various types of India natural stones in this page.
Sand StoneSand stones rocks are sedimentary rocks that form when quartz-rich sand along a coast or river or in a desert is buried under layers of more sand and other sediments. These are made from small grains of the minerals quartz and feldspar. They often form in layers and these layers are pressed down more and more through time, until the bottom layers slowly turn into rock. Sand stones are often used as building stones.

Slate and QuartziteSlate stones are fine-grained, foliated metamorphic rock that develops from shale and tends to break into thin, flat sheets. Slate contains flaky minerals such as mica, clay and chlorite. It is known for a perfectly cleaved surface when split.
Quartzite is a metamorphic rock that results from the metamorphism (heat and pressure) of the sedimentary rock quartz sandstone. Quartzite contains small firmly implanted grains of quartz, which gives it a reflective or crystalline quality. Quartzite is most commonly found in white or light colors, however natural quartzite from India is also available in blue, black, copper and green tones.
Both Slate and Quartzite are fine-grained rock products formed by great pressure within the earth. Both derive their unique color from mineral deposits present in the area.
Slate or Quartzite are water resistant and are extensively used in bathroom, water fountains, swimming pools and places with more usage of water.

MarbleMarble is a hard crystalline metamorphic rock that takes a high polish; used for sculpture and as building material. Marble may be highly polished or non-reflective.

LimestoneLimestone is a carbonate sedimentary rock largely having calcium carbonate, usually also containing significant amounts of magnesium carbonate. Limestone densities can vary, ranging from that of marble to that of granite.
Limestones are typically used for wall cladding, roofing, flooring and all other types of interior & exterior.
¤ Formats/Sizes Available Tile, Slabs, Cut to size pavements, Flags
¤ Finishes Available Naturally riven non-slip surface can be rubbed, honed, polished, sand
blasted & other finishes. Limestone is normally used in a "honed" finish (a smooth surface with little or no gloss).
¤ Recommended Applications Wall-cladding, Flooring and all other interior & exterior applications Design ideas are limited only by your imagination. Widely used for public pathways.

GraniteGranite is a plutonic igneous rock having visibly crystalline texture; generally composed of feldspar and mica and quartz. Granites are typically the hardest of the dimensional stones. They are great for kitchen countertops since they resist scratching, are stain resistant and heat resistant.
¤ Formats/Sizes Available Blocks, Slabs, Tiles.
¤ Finishes Available Polished, Honed, Sawn (Rough), Sand Blasted, Bush Hammered, Flamed.
¤ Recommended Applications Granite is also suitable for flooring and wall cladding and can be used in both interior and exterior applications. Design ideas are limited only by your imagination.
